New River Groves to host Kick-Off Party for Relay for Life Thursday

You CAN make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Stop by Bob Roth's New River Groves this Thursday, January 27, to join the efforts of Relay For Life in Davie and Cooper City, as they host their team Kickoff and Registration party at the grove.

The annual Relay for Life event for our local community takes place on Saturday March 26 through Sunday March 27, at Cooper City High School, and features nearly 1,000 participants, including survivors, community partners and everyday people who are fighting to raise money and awareness.

Relay for Life is a program of the American Cancer Society and takes place every spring throughout the United States. The 18 hours marathon walk pulls together teams as they compete to raise the most money. The festival atmosphere is a fun way to join your neighbors in a worthy cause.

It's personal for us

As many regular visitors and customers are aware, the fight against cancer is very close to hearts of us here at New River Groves. We've all lost far too many friends, colleagues and family members, including Bob's wife Terry (of Terry's Key Lime Pies) in 2002, and just last year, our long-time office manager Barbara.

Please join us in working to eliminate this horrible disease. Here's how you can get involved:

Start your own Relay Team -- Stop by New River Groves tonight to sign up, or visit the Davie/Cooper City Relay for Life website

Sponsor the event -- Get your business name in front of nearly 1,000 community thought leaders and influencers. Find out more about sponsoring the Davie/Cooper City event by contacting this year's event chair, David Roth (954-494-2158 or davidroth@keyes.com) or Ashley Reed of the American Cancer Society (954-564-0880, x 7523 or ashley.reed@cancer.org).

Make a personal donation -- One of New River Grove's biggest champions in this fight is Bob's granddaughter Sarah Roth. Sarah's team is one of the local event's hardest working teams, and Sarah is one of the event's top fundraisers. You can do your part by donating to Sarah's team.

From your friends hear at New River Groves, we look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
