Florida Mangos

Ahhh ... Florida Mangos .... There's nothing that compares to the delicious tropical taste of of this unique fruit. Mangos are one of the world's most popular fruits. Although the mango originated in India, the "Tommy Atkins" variety of mango we are shipping nationwide was first cultivated right here in Florida. It's a version of the Haden Mango, which originated in Coral Gables, Florida. The Tommy Atkins mango has since become one of the most important varieties of mango, and one of the most frequently consumed types of mango throughout the world.

Honey Tangerines from Florida

The honey tangerine gets its name because it is the sweetest variety of tangerine. Grown only in Florida, this citrus fruit is also known as a "Murcott" and has a higher sugar count than Honeybells. Murcotts got their name from Charles Murcott Smith, the citrus grower who developed the variety in the 1920s. Honey Tangerines are available through April.

Valencia Oranges from Florida

One of the latest Florida Oranges to come into season the Valencia Orange. While this sweet Florida orange variety was originally cultivated in California, Valencias are now mainly grown in the Sunshine State, and make up about 50% of the fruit crop here.

Valencia oranges are well-known juice oranges, but their sweet taste, deep orange color and very few seeds make them one the more popular Florida fruits to eat and cook with as well.
